Welcome December!

I bet you thought I would be posting all about Christmas right now, didn’t you? Sorry…… I am not the perfect mom, and believe me I wish I could tell you that all of my Christmas decorations were done, but they are not.

I know. I swore I was going to start before Thanksgiving, and I did. I spent hours cleaning up the house, and making my husband get all of our boxes out of the attic, but……..

well you know the rest of the story.

I have been busy finishing up the last of the Christmas dresses, and whenever I think I will get a weekend off, something else important happens. Let’s face it, I am a busy mom/entrepreneur. I have a college kid studying for exams, working, and a teenage girl that has to be driven to all kinds of events. Life is busy. It is very busy.

Now that does not mean I am a scrooge. We stick to traditions in our house. The kids still get their Advent Calendars. Traditional Bing Crosby Christmas tunes are playing in the house, and we even found a moment to buy our Christmas Tree. I am hoping that tomorrow we will all be home together to finally get it decorated. The spirit of Christmas is still here, and I am so grateful for the hectic lifestyle. Every year, we grow as a family, and although things are not perfect, we cherish the moments we can spend together.

Whenever I get the kids home alone with me, I take a moment to capture them with my camera. I love photography. It is a hobby that I picked up when my daughter was born, and I am so glad I continue to learn and grow. If you ever consider buying one of those fancy cameras at Walmart or Best Buy…….don’t hesitate, just do it. Once you teach yourself a few things, it becomes such a wonderful way of capturing moments.

These were taken in the backyard of our home. Our garden is still young, so things still need to grow. However, this is what Fall looks like in Florida. Not much in orange, or red. I was happy to walk outside and see my bushes turning yellow, and thought it would make for a pretty background. At the same time, it was an excuse to take a few pics and practice my photography skills.

I will post again to show everyone our progress, but for now I hope everyone remembers that Christmas traditions are what brings a family together. It does not matter when they get done, or how they are done. The only thing that matters is that you do them together with the ones you love, and they make you happy. FA LA LA LA LA LA LA LA LA.
