A Flower Girl Dress

IMG_9736   Almost every year I get asked to make a custom flower girl dress for somebody's wedding.  This year I have more then one wedding to design for, but this one was special to me.  First of all, it is for a beach wedding, and I think the colors the bride chose are absolutely gorgeous.  Yellow like the sun, blue like the water and the sky, and white for the bride.  A perfect combination.    It took us a little while to get on the same page as far as fabrics were concerned, but in the end I must say it was worth the hours of emails sent back and forth. I really love to make custom clothing, but most people who want to design their own clothing, have something particuliar in mind, and have a hard time letting go.  This bride knew what dress pattern she wanted - and I think I have enough to choose from.......LOL.  She also knew her colors.  The hard part was getting her to decide on the fabrics.  She found our site on the internet, and immediately called me.  We talked for almost an hour, and I got a pretty good grasp on her style and what she was looking for.  I like conservative too, but with a touch of modern "wow".   Most of the patterns I tend to gravitate towards are older classic styles.  I love to pair those styles of patterns, with a modern floral graphic design in beautiful colors.  I think this dress pretty much says it all.  The Flower girls will be wearing a classic style dress, in georgeous modern prints.  The colors are subtle and bright and will certainly turn the heads of the audience members.  I am very proud of the outcome, and maybe we will see some pictures soon...... I hope the bride enjoys her wedding day, and I wish both of them the very best for their new future together.
