Ok, let me just preface this blog post by saying that "I fell in love with this fabric line!" That does not happen too often, especially not this year for some reason???? I have been a bit bored with many of the fabric lines this year. It is almost as if everyone is afraid to do something new. You see many lines that are copycats from some other company, or many fabrics that are deja vue from the past. This fabric is called Arabesque by Anna Griffin, and from the first time I saw it, I wanted to order all of it. What can be more girly then ballerina slippers, bows, in light pink and grey? Then add some beautiful small floral designs and a very large bright damask, and you have the perfect combination for so many dresses. I had not even seen the fabric, and I already thought about the above dress, which I call the PRIMA BALLERINA DRESS.
I used the Violette pattern from CKC. It is the perfect pattern when you have a combination of 4 or more fabrics that you wish to assemble in one dress. There is only one problem with this pattern........it utilizes a ton of fabric. I guess that is what gives you that perfect TWIRL, and almost every little girl I know wants nothing more. However, this makes the dress a bit more pricey. That is not always a good thing.
So for the people looking for something cheaper.....I designed this dress as well. This is called the Prima Ballerina Peasant. I will have some more pictures to show as the week goes on, and some more fun news to share with everyone soon.
