What a great time of year for a hat. This winter has been so very harsh and cold, and what better way to accessorize your little girl then with an adorable hat. I finished two of these hats over Christmas break. You can find the measurements on the page, and if you need another size, just send me an email and let me know. The Aqua Hat is truly a favorite of ours, as you can see in this composition of pictures below. We wear them all the time, and especially right now, keeping those little ears warm is important. I get asked a lot about learning how to crochet. Here is my opinion.
Crocheting is a fun and unique hobby that can be taken anywhere at anytime. I like to crochet on a plane, in front of the tv, waiting for a doctor, or watching the kids play at the park. I started knitting when I was very young. I have made sweaters and scarfs. Crocheting is different, and it is something I picked up during the last few years. If you already know how to knit, then learning to crochet should be easy. Of course, I wanted to start by making some hats, and I learned very fast that I set my goals too high. I recommend starting with a scarf. Once you see that your stitches are all even, and your sides are not lopsided, then you can move onto other fun projects. There are many websites and utube videos that will teach you how to knit or crochet. Take your time, and practice. As with any hobby, practice makes perfect, so don't expect to become an expert overnight. Just enjoy the ride and be happy to learn something new. By the way, I do not use a specific pattern for this hat. I just have a measuring tape, and my mom's examples to guide me.
