KinderKouture2016

Something borrowed.....

Something borrowed.....

A Bestseller is exactly what we love to boast about at Kinder Kouture.  We have had a few, so when we run out of a bestseller we shed some tears and move on.

However, we are always grateful when a designer improves upon a fabric, brightens the colors somewhat and we get to make a dress all over again..... just a bit better.

It's a bows life...

It's a bows life...

If you are one of those customers, who has asked us "Where did you buy that pattern?" then you may know by now that I have a history of redesigning and hacking some of my favorite patterns.  One of them included an A-line dress with a very large but gorgeous bow.

Bunnies and Bubbles

Bunnies and Bubbles

I rarely get an opportunity to photograph a little girl anymore......Wish I could just stop the hands of time or turn them back to when my daughter was only 2 years old......but we all know that is not possible.  So when I do get this opportunity, I never say no.  There is nothing sweeter for a designer then to see her creativity in action.  How well a dress fits, and holds up on a happy, and excited little 2 year old.

Flutters

Flutters

Four years ago I tested a beautiful pattern using flutters.    At the time I had no idea that flutters would become so popular or for that matter requested.  But it is true.  The flutter dresses are among our most popular and bestselling designs.  So I wanted to take a moment and show you the difference in the various flutter patterns, as well as how cute these dresses look on some of our models......and this may surprise you.....all different ages.  Today I thought I would answer some questions that I keep getting about Flutters.  It's amazing that so many people have a love/hate relationship with flutters.  No problem.  I get it.

So the pictures above are a perfect example of what a dress looks like with various types of flutters.   The Bunny Hill Dress has a lot of flutters.  The Sweet Bunny Dress has less flutters - Sweet Bunny Dress - and no flutters as seen on my design board while putting the Bunny Hill Dress together.

Sophia

I agree that most flutter style dresses  are adorable on little girls.  I mean look at these little girls all dressed up....how perfectly sweet.

April Bunny Dress

I could not even imagine that an older girl could wear the same type of dress and get the same effect.  But I was wrong.....I loved the Lily Dress my daughter wore for two years and she was 8 at the time.

Evelyn Green

I hope this sort of convinced you that flutter style dresses can look great on girls of all ages.  If not, just send me an email and will skip the flutters on your design.  It's easy, and it can be done.  By the way, we will be remaking this gorgeous Evelyn with a new fabric, so stay tuned for our next new dress.

More Bunny Hill

More Bunny Hill

I just wanted to pass on a quick note that we have uploaded another cute dress to the Easter Collection.  Introducing our Bunny Hill Dress (White).  Both the Mint and White Bunny Hill Dresses are made from the same pattern.  Both dresses include flutters, back bodice button closure, and layers of ruffles along the hem.

The White dress includes two layers of flutters to add a bit more color to the dress.

Oh how I love this print.  It is just adorable.  I hope you like it too.  Be sure to grab it fast.  I only have a bolt of each fabric available.  Orders started to come in this weekend, but I want my subscribers to have first dibs on this lovely dress.  Enjoy.

A Visit to Bunny Hill

A Visit to Bunny Hill

Finally......and I really do mean that.....let me introduce you to our first Easter dress for 2017.  The Bunny Hill collection shows off bunnies enjoying their everyday life - hugging, collecting carrots, playing.  You name it, and it is here.  Adorable and cute, and the colors are some of my favorite - mint green combined with apricot and white.  This print is too cute for words, and I guarantee it will look adorable on the little ones for Easter....so pretty. The main fabric shows off the bunnies, and comes in this gorgeous mint green or white (which I should be showing tomorrow...if all goes well).  I took the pics a little late in the afternoon, but we will have more to show you soon.   The dress, for many of our new customers includes a classic bodice that buttons in the back, flutter sleeves (which are optional), and three sets of ruffles on the hem of the skirt.  Yes our pictures do include a pettiskirt, so our customers can see the fullness of the skirt.  I prefer a pettiskirt under dresses.  I have always put my daughter in different pettiskirts, and I buy them in Target or TJMAXX, whenever I see one that I like.

The dress will not be offered with a sash unless requested by the customer.  As you can see, it does cover the adorable bunny embroidery on the front bodice.  I prefer no sash, because time and time again my daughter just ripped it off, or struggled with it, but like I said I will make one if it is requested.  The dress has a pretty tight fit, so I find the sash to be unnecessary.

The beauty of this dress lies in the fabric.  Aren't those just the cutest bunny prints?  I just love it.

There will be a limited quantity of these dresses.  I can only make between 15-20 dresses, and they will not ship until 2/30/17.  This will help us get all the dresses made up at once, and work at full capacity around here.  I hope you like the dress, and I will try and get better pics soon.

Christmas Traditions

Christmas is a magical time of year for everyone, but especially for children.  They cherish each moment and all the excitement that surrounds them.  It fills their hearts with joy, and song.  It's not the amount of gifts under the tree they will remember......it's the little things like decorating the tree, drinking hot chocolate after a walk in the snow, or singing Christmas songs in the car.  Christmas really is a feeling in your heart.
