I am so in love with this new fabric, and even more with this new design which I first discovered on an australian blog. Before any questions come flying at me, I designed this pattern myself and no, the pattern is not for sale. However the dress is for sale and is available at Kinder Kouture.

The Mirabella dress is a great introduction to Kinder Kouture Fall/Winter styles of 2014. The colors are vibrant and yet so classic with this royal blue background. One of my favorite colors for Fall is orange, but believe me when I say there is not much available on fabrics when it comes to this delightful pumpkin color. You can find basic polka dots, pin dots or gingham, but that is it. I ordered this fabric back in May because I love the designer, but also because the colors were just perfect for the dresses I like to design.
The dress pattern is also new. Based on a jumper style dress with sashes that travel over the shoulders and then tie at the waistline, this dress is perfect for layering in the Fall/Winter and Spring months. I even considered making several peasant blouses in polka dots that match this fabric, but as usual I always fighting with the clock. I first saw this design on another website in Australia. The designer claimed she did not use a pattern, but designed it herself, so I decided to do the same. As usual, it took me a day but I think it was well worth it.
I decided to keep the dress fairly simple and just add a crochet flower to the sash. I could have added ruffles to the hem or flutters to the sleeve, but instead I kept it rather simple. At times, a print just does not need that much, but if my customers need more frill, all they have to do is ask. I hope you like it, and the dress is available in sizes NB-3-6-12-18-2-3-4-5-6-7-8-10-12. If you want more frills, then just wait…….and we will have this up soon….
